Consultative Council of European Prosecutors
The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia actively participates in the work of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE), which is one of the most important advisory bodies of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
Functions and Objectives
The main functions of the Council are:
- Drafting conclusions: Preparing opinions and conclusions for the European Committee on Crime Problems regarding the implementation of Recommendation Rec(2000)19.
- Support: Promoting the effective implementation of the aforementioned recommendation in member states.
- Information gathering: Exchanging data on the functions and experiences of prosecutorial systems in European states.
Establishment
Founded in July 2005 by the decision of the CoE Committee of Ministers to emphasize the role of the public prosecutor in the criminal justice system.
