Within the scope of its authority to initiate lawsuits for the protection of state (municipal) interests, the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik Region examined the legality of the alienation of nine plots of land, with a total area of 12.13824 hectares, belonging to the municipal property of the Norashenik settlement of Kapan Community, based on decisions adopted by the settlement’s Council of Elders in 2017.
As a reminder, the criminal case concerning the alienation of the aforementioned plots through fictitious auctions is currently being examined by the Anti-Corruption Court, with 11 defendants involved.
In parallel with the criminal proceedings before the Anti-Corruption Court, during July–September 2026, the prosecutor filed five lawsuits with the Anti-Corruption Court seeking to have the auctions conducted for 9 nine plots of land declared fictitious transactions and to apply the legal consequences of invalidity.
The lawsuits have been accepted for examination by the Anti-Corruption Court, and measures securing the claims have been imposed with respect to 9 plots of land.
