The problem for the “Protection of State Interests of the Republic of Armenia” student moot court competition has been published
As part of the 1st “Protection of State Interests of the Republic of Armenia” student moot court competition organised jointly by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and the YSU Legal Laboratory, the problem, the applicable primary legal sources, the template for written submissions, as well as the revised schedule of the moot court competition have been published on the official website of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia.
It should be recalled that the 1st “Protection of State Interests of the Republic of Armenia” Student Moot Court Competition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of former Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Artavazd Gevorgyan.
The deadline for submitting applications for participation by the teams was set as 16 September 2026.
A total of 15 applications have been received for participation in the 1st “Protection of State Interests of the Republic of Armenia” Student Moot Court Competition.
Students of the faculties of law of higher education institutions of the Republic of Armenia will have the opportunity to test their knowledge and professional skills in a format closely resembling actual court proceedings by participating in the 1st “Protection of State Interests of the Republic of Armenia” Student Moot Court Competition.
The objective of the competition is to promote students’ legal research skills, their ability to identify legal issues and develop solutions, as well as deepen their knowledge of the powers of the Prosecutor’s Office in the field of protection of state and community interests, and to foster a culture of integrity, professional ethics and fair competition among students.
The competition consists of written and oral stages. During the written stage, each team will present the positions of the Claimant and the Respondent, while the oral stage will be conducted through preliminary, semi-final and final rounds.
As a result of the competition, the winning and second-place teams will be awarded, while individual and special professional awards will also be presented in the categories of “Best Written Submission” and “Best Speaker of the Competition”.
