The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia reported that Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan was on a two-day working visit to Lori region on 19–20 August 2026.

On the second day of her regional visit, accompanied by Prosecutor of Lori region Movses Antonyan, Anna Vardapetyan visited the sites of six kindergartens in the Alaverdi Community that had been privatised between 2000 and 2005: the kindergarten located in Block 1 of the Sanahin-Sarahrat district, Kindergarten No. 9 in Block 3, Kindergartens No. 5 and No. 12 in the Engels district, Kindergarten No. 4 on Jravazan Street, and Kindergarten No. 8 at 8/3 Zoravar Andranik Street.

The Prosecutor of the region reported that, following an examination conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of Lori region within the scope of its powers to protect State (community) interests to determine the legality of the privatisation of all the aforementioned properties, claims are being prepared, and a claim concerning one of the properties has already been filed with the competent court.

Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan instructed the Prosecutor of the region to take measures to return the illegally alienated kindergartens to the Alaverdi Community and set deadlines for the implementation of the instructions.
