Prosecutor General imposed disciplinary penalty of “severe reprimand” and “reprimand”on two prosecutors

On 18 May and 15 June 2026, disciplinary proceedings were instituted against persons holding autonomous positions in the Prosecutor’s Offices of Syunik and Shirak regions.

At its meeting held on 2 September 2026, the Ethics Commission under the Prosecutor General established that disciplinary violations had occurred in the actions of two prosecutors.

Within the framework of the disciplinary proceedings, it was established that the persons holding autonomous positions had failed to exercise proper oversight over the legality of pre-trial proceedings, had failed to initiate criminal prosecution despite the existence of evidence indicating that persons involved in the criminal proceedings had committed an offence, and had also failed to issue prosecutorial acts in a timely manner.

By decisions of the Prosecutor General dated 3 September 2026, a disciplinary penalty in the form of a “severe reprimand” was imposed on the person holding an autonomous position in the Prosecutor’s Office of Shirak region, while a disciplinary penalty in the form of a “reprimand” was imposed on the person holding an autonomous position in the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik region.
