Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan presented details of the verdicts and lawsuits of cases of confiscation of illegal property at the Government session

Today, at the Government session, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan spoke about the verdicts made in cases of confiscation of property of illegal origin and the lawsuits filed.

Anna Vardapetyan, in particular, stated:

“Most recently, on July 24, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the lawsuit of the Prosecutor’s Office against the former Governor of Aragatsotn Region Sargis Sahakyan and his associates. After the judicial act enters into legal force, it is subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia.

Ø  45% of an apartment located in the Arabkir Administrative District of Yerevan City,

Ø  One residential house in full, located in Ashtarak Town, Aragatsotn Region,

Ø  AMD 184 million 222 thousand 585.

It’s worth mentioning that in addition to the verdict of Sargis Sahakyan, we have verdicts made on other persons that have not yet entered into legal force.

In particular:

1. On July 3, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan and his associates. After the judicial act enters into legal force, it is subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia.

Ø  3 real estate properties located in Yerevan, 1 of which will be confiscated in full, 2 properties – those parts assessed as illegal,

Ø  AMD 202 million 998 thousand of deposits invested in the bank, a total of AMD 74 million 716 thousand of interest accrued from them,

Ø  AMD 352 million 438 thousand.

2. On June 5, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against the former mayor of Hrazdan, Aram Danielyan and his affiliates. After the judicial act enters into legal force, it is subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia:

Ø  8 real estate properties, 4 of which will be confiscated in full, the other 4 in parts recognized as illegal,

Ø  50% participation in 1 legal entity,

Ø  2 transportation means,

Ø  Due to the impossibility of confiscating 2 real estate properties and 1 transportation means, their value is about AMD 25 million,

Ø  AMD 85 million 430 thousand.

3. On April 21, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against Ani Sargsyan, the niece of the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. After the judicial act enters into legal force, it is subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia.

Ø   39341 shares of a company engaged in electricity production,

Ø   864 thousand US dollars deposit,

Ø   AMD 10 million 200 thousand,

Ø   4853 euros,

Ø   AMD 2 million 643 thousand.

4. On October 10, 2025, the Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against the heirs of the former Deputy of the National Assembly Manvel Grigoryan and his affiliates. After the judicial act enters into legal force, it is subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia.

Ø  9 immovable and 6 movable properties,

Ø  1 participation in a legal entity,

Ø   AMD 340 million.

Within the framework of the authority to confiscate property of illegal origin, the value of property and funds returned to the Republic of Armenia by legally effective judgments and settlements amounts to about AMD 6 billion 300 million drams (about 17 million USD).

In particular, as a result of 2 judicial acts and 11 settlement agreements that have entered into legal force at the moment, 12 real estate properties, 2 movable properties, 2000 shares have been confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia, the right to claim a loan of 264 thousand USD, as well as more than AMD 1 billion has also been transferred to the Republic of Armenia.

The court also granted a monetary claim of about AMD 1 billion 300 million in the case of the former Governor of Kotayk, Karapet Guloyan, which was sent to the Compulsory Enforcement Service to provide the confiscation.

On June 17, 2026, another settlement agreement was concluded, which entered into legal force. As a result of the aforementioned settlement, more than AMD 304 million are subject to return to the state.

As for the claims submitted to the court within the framework of the authority to confiscate property of illegal origin, I would like to note that currently 172 claims are being examined in the Anti-Corruption Court, and 2 have not yet been accepted for proceedings. The total claim value of the claims examined in the court is about AMD 628 billion 600 million. The claims require the confiscation of 1486 real estate properties, 371 movable properties, participation in 464 legal entities, as well as funds, the total amount of which is about AMD 464 billion 600 million”.
