Within the scope of its authority to protect state (community) interests, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ararat Region examined the documents concerning the allocation of plots of land located within the territory of Ararat city park to various individuals.

As a result of the examination, it was established, among other things, that A.B., the former head of the Ararat Community, in violation of the requirements of Article 77, Part 1 of the acting Land Code at the time the legal relationship arose, allocated, on March 10, 2008, a plot of land measuring 0.0640 hectares, located at 7 Aygi Street, Ararat, under a right of development for a term of 99 years, to the mother of H.P., who at that time held the position of the Head of the Ararat Regional Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia. The latter subsequently donated the aforementioned right to her son, H.P.

The prosecutor submitted a motion to the head of the Ararat Community requesting that measures be taken to terminate the development right agreement concluded on March 10, 2008, between Ararat Community and the developer.

Based on the motion, as a result of measures taken by the competent authorities of the Ararat Municipality, on September 2, 2026, the development right registered over the 0.0640 hectare plot of land located at 7 Aygi Street, Ararat, with a cadastral value approximating its market value of AMD 1.201.000, was terminated at the Cadastre Committee.

To date, the following five plots of land located within the territory of Ararat city park have been returned to the possession of Ararat Community:

1.     The 0.0640-hectare plot of land located at 7 Aygi Street, Ararat;

2.    The 0.0591-hectare plot of land located at 1/1 Aygi Street, Ararat;

3.    The 0.2100-hectare plot of land located at 6 Aygi Street, Ararat;

4.    The 0.0630-hectare plot of land located at 10 Aygi Street, Ararat;

5.    The 0.1280-hectare plot of land located at 36/5 Shahumyan Street, Ararat.

Actions aimed at terminating the other agreements are currently underway.
