As a result of prosecutorial intervention, 2 land plots with a total area of 2.21 hectares have been returned to the possession of the Ashotsk цommunity in Shirak region

As part of its powers to protect state (community) interests, the Prosecutor’s Office of Shirak region conducted an examination and established that A.A., who served as Head of Ashotsk Village from 2006 to 2016 and as Head of the enlarged Ashotsk Community from 2016 to 2018, unlawfully granted private individuals lease rights over 1.49 ha of agricultural land designated as arable land and 0.72 ha of agricultural land designated as hayfields, located in Ashotsk Village, Ashotsk community, Shirak region.

The examination established that in 2009, pursuant to a decision of A.A., Head of the Ashotsk Community, the aforementioned land plots were granted to a private individual, recognised as the “winner of the auction”, under a 25-year lease. However, an examination of the cadastral file revealed that the auction conducted for the allocation of the land plots had been held in violation of the requirements prescribed by law.

Based on the above, the Prosecutor’s Office of Shirak region submitted a representation to the current Head of the Ashotsk community, demanding that measures be taken to terminate the unlawful possession of the land plots by the private individuals.

As a result of the representation, according to certificates issued by the Cadastre Committee on 21 and 25 August 2026, the lease rights of the private individuals over the aforementioned land plots were terminated. Two land plots with a total area of 2.21 ha and a cadastral value of                                            AMD 1 million 63 thousand have been returned to the possession of the Ashotsk community in Shirak region.

To date, as a result of prosecutorial intervention, 7 land plots with a total area of 25.32 ha and a cadastral value of AMD 18 million 169 thousand have been returned to the possession of the Ashotsk community.
