Another settlement agreement was concluded on confiscation of property of illicit origin: approximately AMD 305 million will be returned to the Republic of Armenia
On June 17, 2026, the Prosecutor General’s Office concluded a settlement agreement in the framework of confiscation of property of illicit origin, which was approved by the verdict of the Anti-coruption court dated 26 June, 2026. AMD 304,554,000 will be returned to the Republic of Armenia under the mentioned agreement.
On July 29, 2024, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a claim with the Anti-Corruption Court against the former Chairman of the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Armenia Ishkhan Zakaryan and persons affiliated with him, demanding confiscation of property of illicit origin.
The claim was accepted for proceedings by the court’s decision dated August 21, 2024,.
Within the framework of this case, on June 17, 2026, a settlement agreement was concluded in the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office with the respondents Ishkhan Zakaryan and his affiliated persons, under which the responding side agreed to return the total amount of AMD 304,554,000 to the Republic of Armenia within six months, according to a defined schedule, following the amended claim basis and subject matter approved by the Anti-Corruption Court’s decision dated June 15, 2026.
It should be noted that within the criminal proceedings initiated on September 23, 2020, during 2023–2024, Ishkhan Zakaryan returned to the Republic of Armenia 15 land plots of approximately 71 hectares, including 2 plots in Hatsavan community of Kotayk region, 11 plots in Lanjazat community of Ararat region and 2 plots in Garni community of Kotayk region. In addition, AMD 32 million was transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office deposit account as the difference between auction and cadastral values of the land plots.
On June 19, 2026, a motion was submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court regarding the approval of the settlement agreement.
On June 26, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court held a verdict approving the settlement agreement concluded on June 17, 2026.
