Within the scope of its authority to protect state (community) interests, the Prosecutor's Office of Ararat region examined the documents concerning the allocation of land plots located within Ararat city park to various individuals.

The examination established, i.a., that A.B., the former Head of Ararat community, in violation of the requirements of part 1 of Article 77 of the Land Code in force at the time the legal relationship arose, on 12 February 2008 allocated a 630 sq.m land plot located at 10 Aygi street, Ararat, to a private individual under a 99-year construction right.

The prosecutor submitted a motion to the Head of Ararat community demanding that measures be taken to terminate the construction right agreement concluded between Ararat community and the developer on 12 February 2008.

As a result of the measures undertaken by the competent authorities of the Ararat Municipality on the basis of the prosecutor's motion, on 17 July 2026 the construction right registered over the 630 sq.m land plot located at 10 Aygi street, Ararat, with an approximate market-based cadastral value of AMD 1.182 million, was terminated by the Cadastre Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

It should be recalled that on 18 June 2026, following prosecutorial intervention, the Cadastre Committee terminated the registered construction right over a 0.1280 ha land plot located at 36/5 Shahumyan street within Ararat city park, with an approximate market-based cadastral value of AMD 2.403 million; on 29 June 2026, the registered construction right over a 0.0591 ha land plot located at 1/1 Aygi street, Ararat, with an approximate market-based cadastral value of AMD 1.109 million; and on 8 July 2026, the registered construction right over a 0.2100 ha land plot located at 6 Aygi street, Ararat, with an approximate market-based cadastral value of AMD 3.943 million.

Efforts to terminate the remaining agreements are ongoing.
