Prosecutor’s Office demands confiscation of immovable property at 16 Tigran Mets Avenue: claim for protection of state interests admitted for court proceedings
October 08, 2026
On 29 September 2026, within the framework of its powers to protect state interests, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a claim with the Anti-Corruption Court against the State Property Management Committee, an LLC and a CJSC, demanding, i.a., confiscation of the immovable property located at 16 Tigran Mets Avenue, Yerevan (former address: 43 M. Khorenatsi Street, “Ayrarat” Cinema).
The claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office is based on the fact that, by 14 January 2017, investments in the amount of AMD equivalent to USD 1,550,000, as stipulated by the privatisation transaction concerning the privatisation of the immovable property located at 16 Tigran Mets Avenue, Yerevan, had not been made.
By a decision of the Anti-Corruption Court dated 5 October 2026, the claim was admitted for proceedings. By another decision of the same date, an interim measure was applied: the LLC was prohibited from taking any action that would result in a change in the factual or legal status of the immovable property located at 16 Tigran Mets Avenue.
