On 23 October 2024, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a claim with the Anti-Corruption Court against the enlarged Areni community of Vayots Dzor region and two private individuals, demanding to declare invalid the auctions of the land plots held on 21 December 2011 and to apply the consequences of invalidity.

By the judgment of the Anti-Corruption Court dated 14 October 2026, the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office was granted. The auctions of two land plots with areas of 430 sq. m and 1 ha in the enlarged Areni community of Vayots Dzor region were declared invalid. The 1 ha land plot will be returned to Vedi community, while, due to the impossibility of returning the 430 sq. m land plot in kind, its value of AMD 254,000 will be recovered from the purchaser.

After the judgment enters into legal force, the Prosecutor’s Office will apply to the Cadastre Committee for registration of Areni community’s ownership right over the said land plot.
