On 17 October 2025, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a claim with the Anti-Corruption Court against the Areni community of Vayots Dzor region and an individual, demanding to declare invalid the auction held on 7 October 2011 and to apply the consequences of invalidity.

On 8 October 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court granted the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The auction held on 7 October 2011 concerning the 0.12 ha land plot was declared invalid. Once the judgment enters into legal force, as a consequence of invalidity, the individual will compensate the Areni community of Vayots Dzor region AMD 385,000, as restitution of the property in kind is impossible.
