The Prosecutor's Offices of Armenia and Estonia will deepen cooperation: Anna Vardapetyan received the Prosecutor General of Estonia

On 30 June 2026, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan received a delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Estonia Astrid Asi, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit.

The delegation visited Armenia to participate in the high-level international conference entitled “Following the Illicit money: Prosecution, Recovery, Management and Enhancing Victim-Centred Responses in Criminal Justice,” organized within the framework of the Armenian Platform for European Prosecutors’ Dialogue (APEPD).

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Armenia Marge Mardisalu-Kahar.

Welcoming the guests, Anna Vardapetyan expressed gratitude to them for accepting the invitation and congratulated Astrid Asi on assuming the office of Prosecutor General, expressing confidence that her professional experience and expertise would make a significant contribution to the further development of the Estonian prosecution and to its effective response to contemporary challenges.

Addressing cooperation between the Prosecutor Offices of the two countries, the parties highly appreciated the existing level of international legal cooperation in criminal proceedings, emphasizing that the international legal framework in force between Armenia and Estonia provides a solid basis for effective collaboration.

The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation within the framework of collaboration between the Republic of Armenia and Eurojust.

Anna Vardapetyan also presented the outcomes of the high-level international conferences held in Yerevan in recent years with the support of European partners. She noted that, based on the positive feedback received from partner countries, a decision had been made to institutionalize the initiative and continue it under the format of the Armenian Platform for the European Prosecutors' Dialogue (APEPD).

The Prosecutors General of Armenia and Estonia reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the exchange of experience, deepening professional cooperation and making joint efforts to advance the development of their prosecution services, strengthen international legal cooperation and enhance the effectiveness of combating transnational crime, cybercrime, corruption and money laundering.
