The Prosecutor’s Office demands to confiscate approximately AMD 385 million and three immovable properties from former Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia Armen Ashotyan in favour of the Republic of Armenia
The Anti-Corruption Court has admitted for consideration another claim filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office concerning the confiscation of property of illicit origin.
The Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office has submitted a motion to court to confiscate from Armen Ashotyan, former Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, former Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia and Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, and persons affiliated with him in favour of the Republic of Armenia:
- purchase rights to three immovable properties, one whereof is located in the Kentron administrative district, while the other two are townhouses under construction in the Avan administrative district;
- approximately AMD 47 million as the remaining balance of illicit income and funds;
- AMD 338 million 366 thousand, which cannot be substantiated by the person’s lawful income, is of illicit origin, was transferred to a bona fide acquirer during the period from 2005 to 2026, or cannot be identified and confiscated.
