On 21 August 2026, a meeting of the Board of the Prosecutor’s Office was held under the chairmanship of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan. The meeting reviewed the work carried out during the first half of 2026 by the Prosecutor’s Offices of the administrative districts of Yerevan and the regions, as well as by the Military Prosecutor’s Offices of the garrisons.

As in the review of the 2025 annual results, the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik region once again ranked first, while the Prosecutor’s Offices of Lori and Ararat regions shared second and third places with equal scores.

Among the Garrisons Military Prosecutor’s Offices, the Tavush Garrison Military Prosecutor’s Office ranked first, the Gegharkunik Garrison Military Prosecutor’s Office second and the Sisian Garrison Military Prosecutor’s Office third.

It should be recalled that the performance assessment criteria established by order of the Prosecutor General include, i.a.:

1. The amount of money returned to the state and communities pursuant to final judicial acts in claims for the protection of state and community interests;
2. The amount of compensation for damage caused to the state, communities and organizations with state or community participation, recovered through criminal proceedings and the application of prosecutorial measures;
3. The number of criminal proceedings concerning serious and particularly serious offences submitted to the courts with an indictment;
4. The number of final judicial acts in cases concerning serious and particularly serious offences.

The Collegium meeting also reviewed data for the period from 2018 through the first half of 2026 inclusive concerning property and monetary assets returned to the ownership or possession of the Republic of Armenia and communities as a result of criminal proceedings, cases completed in courts, claims and settlements for the protection of state and community interests, prosecutorial measures, and, since 2023, the use of the asset recovery mechanism concerning property of illicit origin.

“According to these indicators, from 2018 through the first half of 2026 inclusive, property and monetary assets worth approximately AMD 304.182 billion (approximately USD 833 million) have been returned to the ownership or possession of the Republic of Armenia and communities, of which 67.5%, or approximately AMD 205.450 billion (approximately USD 562 million), relates to property and monetary assets returned between 1 January 2023 and 30 June 2026,” Anna Vardapetyan emphasised.

She added that the public demand for intensifying work in this area is more relevant than ever. Furthermore, the Government Programme for 2026–2031 envisages returning to the public by 2031 property and monetary assets equivalent to approximately USD 2 billion. “To achieve this target, I expect each of you to demonstrate dedication in your daily work,” the Prosecutor General emphasised.

The Collegium meeting also addressed other matters on the agenda, including the electronic statistical reporting system “On the Work of the Prosecutor”, which remains under the daily attention of the Prosecutor General.
