How many gardens, parks, groves and forest areas have been returned to Yerevan and the regions in the last year? The Prosecutor General presented details

Today, at the Government session, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan referred to the public gardens, parks, groves, forest areas - returned to the Republic of Armenia and communities within the framework of the Prosecutor's Office's authority to protect state (community) interests during 2025-2026.

Anna Vardapetyan presented details about the properties returned in Syunik, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Ararat and Lori Rgions, as well as in the capital, highlighting:

"In Syunik Region, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of prosecutorial intervention, 5 plots of land in the "May 28" park with an area of ​​3,153 square meters were returned to the possession of Sisian community, and 3 plots of land in Vazgen Sargsyan park with an area of ​​687 square meters were returned to the possession of Kapan community.

In Tavush Region, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of the granted claims of the prosecutor's office, as well as prosecutorial intervention, 16 plots of land located in Ijevan town park with an area of ​​5260.7 square meters were returned to the possession of Ijevan community, and a plot of land with an area of ​​67 hectares of "specially protected areas" and "environmental" operational significance was returned to the possession of Dilijan community, the approximate market cadastral value of which is AMD 4 billion 579 million (12 million 436 thousand US dollars).

In Ararat Region, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of prosecutorial intervention, 2 plots of land located in the park on Shahumyan Street in the Kaghtsrashen settlement with an area of ​​250 square meters were returned to the possession of Artashat community. The construction works in the park made by the community, according to our information, have been completed. 4 plots of land in the City Park with an area of ​​4601 square meters have also been returned to the possession of Ararat community.

The Prosecutor's Office also reported that as a result of the prosecutor's intervention, about 5330 hectares of land (65 property units) worth of AMD 60 billion 553 million from the state-owned environmental lands located outside the administrative borders of the communities of Ararat region have been returned to the possession of the Republic of Armenia. The state registration of the right of gratuitous use of the land plots of the "Animal World" LLC has been terminated. Studies in this direction are underway, as information has been received about the apparent illegal possession of other plots of land.

In Gegharkunik Region, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of the prosecutor's intervention, 6 land plots located on the shores of Lake Sevan with an area of ​​5.7 hectares were returned to the possession of the Republic of Armenia. The Prosecutor's Office also reported that as a result of the prosecutor's intervention, from December 2025 to July 1, 2026, 201 illegally constructed buildings and structures were dismantled on 68 land plots below the absolute mark on the shores of Lake Sevan, and 2 contracts were terminated by "Sevan National Park" SNCO. The dismantling works will continue after the end of the beach season.

In Kotayk Region, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of the satisfaction of the prosecutor's claim, the ownership rights of the Republic of Armenia to a land plot located in Tsaghkadzor community with an area of ​​about 2 hectares were restored.

In Lori Region, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of the prosecutor's intervention, 13 land plots with an area of ​​4451.7 square meters located in the park named after Hrant Matevosyan were returned to the possession of Vanadzor community.

In Yerevan, within the framework of the authority to protect state (community) interests, as a result of the granted claims of the Prosecutor's Office's, the ownership rights of the Republic of Armenia were restored to 6 land plots with an area of ​​7.5 hectares located in the area adjacent to the TV tower on Garegin Hovsepyan Street, Nork-Marash, Yerevan, the approximate cadastral value of which is AMD 3 billion 382 million (9 million 215 thousand US dollars)."
