Cooperation between the Prosecutors’ Offices of Armenia and Lithuania on legal assistance and extradition achieved tangible results: Anna Vardapetyan received the Prosecutor General of Lithuania

On June 30, 2026, Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan received the delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania, Nida Grunskiene, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit.

The delegation arrived in Armenia to participate in the international high-level conference “Following the illicit money: prosecution, recovery, management and enhancing victim-centered responses in criminal justice” within the framework of the Armenian Platform for European Prosecutors’ Dialogue.

Anna Vardapetyan welcomed her colleagues at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia, thanked her Lithuanian colleagues for their active participation in the international conferences organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia for many years, and emphasized that their professional contribution during the high-level conferences organized in Armenia in 2023, 2024, and 2025 significantly contributed to improving the quality of the discussion of the field.

The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia also congratulated Nida Grunskiene on her re-election to the position of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania, expressing confidence that her professional experience and leadership skills will continue to contribute to the strengthening of the rule of law and the effective operation of the Prosecutor's Office.

Development of long-term and effective cooperation between the Prosecutor's Offices of Armenia and Lithuania was discussed during the meeting. They touched upon solid contractual basis for international legal cooperation in criminal proceedings between the two countries, and the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2023 has given a new impetus to deepening cooperation in the areas of criminal justice, human rights protection and the rule of law.

Touching upon the continuous professional education of prosecutors, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan presented the outcomes of the high-level international conferences held in Yerevan in 2023-2025 in cooperation with European partners, emphasizing that based on the positive feedback from partner countries, they have been institutionalized and will henceforth be held in the format of the Armenian Platform for European Prosecutors' Dialogue (APEPD).

The Prosecutors General of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania reaffirmed their willingness to continue cooperation in the areas of developing the professional capabilities of prosecutors, combating transnational crime, corruption, money laundering and the return of assets of illicit origin.
