Approximately 223 ha of land were returned to the possession of Goris community in Syunik region as a result of prosecutorial intervention

The Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik region, within the scope of its authority to bring claims for the protection of state interests, examined the lawfulness of the documents concerning the allocation of land plots constituting community and state property in Goris community, Syunik region, to legal entities or individuals under rights of lease or gratuitous use.  

As a result of the examination, it was established that approximately 184 ha of land located in Goris community had been allocated to a limited liability company under a lease agreement concluded on 31 January 2007 for a term of 25 years.

On the basis of the prosecutor’s motion, as a result of measures undertaken by the competent authorities of Goris Municipality, the lease right was terminated with the Cadastre Committee, and the land plot, constituting community property, which had been granted to the limited liability company for possession and use, was returned to the possession of Goris Community. The land plot is agricultural land measuring 184 ha (124 ha whereof are arable land and 60 ha are pasture), with a cadastral value of AMD 132,780,000.

The examination also established that the same limited liability company had unlawfully occupied 38.5 ha of arable land, with a cadastral value of AMD 22,909,000.

On the basis of the prosecutor’s motion, as a result of measures undertaken by the competent authorities of Goris Municipality, the 38.5 ha land plot was returned to the possession of Goris Community.
