A 3,100 sq. m land plot on the shore of Lake Sevan has been returned to the possession of the Republic of Armenia as a result of prosecutorial intervention
On 19 June 2026, the Department of State Interests Protection of the Prosecutor General’s Office submitted a motion to the Ministry of Environment and the “Sevan National Park” SNCO demanding that measures be taken to terminate the lease agreement concluded on 20 December 2004 between the SNCO and an individual concerning a 3,100 sq. m land plot located below the absolute elevation mark.
On the basis of the motion of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the “Sevan National Park” SNCO and the individual jointly submitted an application to the Cadastre Committee regarding the termination of the lease agreement.
According to a certificate issued by the Cadastre Committee on 19 August 2026, the leasehold right over the 3,100 sq. m land plot has been terminated.
The property, with a cadastral value approximating its market value of AMD 21 million 186 thousand, has been returned to the possession of the Republic of Armenia.
