Within the scope of its authority to file claims for the protection of state (community) interests, the Prosecutor’s Office of Kotayk Region submitted a statement of claim to the Anti-Corruption Court on April 7, 2025, deemanding to invalidate the 2008 auction and apply the legal consequences of invalidity.

On January 16, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court granted the claim of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kotayk Region. By its decision, the re-auction held on August 16, 2008, concerning a 1,700-sq. m land plot was declared invalid, and as a consequence of such invalidity, the real estate sale agreement concluded on August 27, 2008, between the Abovyan community of Kotayk Region and an individual, as well as the state registrations of ownership rights, were also declared invalid.

Once the decision enters into legal force, the 1,700 sq. m land plot—classified under Article 60 of the Land Code as land not subject to alienation—will be returned to the Abovyan community of Kotayk Region.
