The Prosecutor General discussed cooperation perspectives with the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Armenia

Today the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia, Marieke Harriet Monroy-Winter.

 

Anna Vardapetyan welcomed the Ambassador at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and highly appreciated the effectiveness of the training conducted with the support of the Embassy. 

 

It is worth mentioning that the second phase of the training courses entitled “Communication in the Courtroom: management of conflicts and stress” was launched for all the practicing prosecutors of Armenia on 16 November 2024 (the first stage of the course took place from November 2023 to April 2024 on the topic “Development of Communication Capabilities and Skills of Prosecutors”). Over 380 prosecutors participated in the 2-day courses which were conducted during 13 weeks. The trainings were conducted by Nvard Melkonyan, co-founder of SPRING PR company, Associated Professor of the Department of Social Work and Social Technologies of YSU and Hakob Makdis, the Founder and Director of the Big Mind Training Center.

 

The Prosecutor General of the Republic also highlighted the importance of the two-day training on “Prevention of Domestic Violence, Criminal Prosecution and Current Directions of Judicial and Legal Response” organized with the support of the Embassy for about 50 prosecutors.

 

Anna Vardapetyan underlined the importance of non-formal education and in this context noted that in the coming days, a structural subdivision of Yerevan State University, the YSU Law Laboratory, will be officially opened in the administrative building of the Prosecutor General's Office, where it is planned to organize discussions on current legal issues, practical work, seminars and conferences, and conduct research on legal issues with the participation of prosecutors, candidates for prosecutors, Armenian lawyers operating in the Diaspora, and beneficiaries of the Laboratory.

 

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia, Marike Harriet Monroy-Winter, thanked Anna Vardapetyan for the effective cooperation and reaffirmed the readiness to deepen relationship in a number of educational areas.

 

At the end of the meeting, the RA Prosecutor General and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia awarded certificates to the participants of the training course on "Prevention, Criminal Prosecution and Current Directions of Judicial and Legal Response to Domestic Violence."
