On February 19, 2025, the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kotayk Region for 2024 were summarized under the leadership of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan.

The summary meeting was attended by Yeghiazar Avagyan, the Deputy Prosecutor General of the RA, Karen Sukiasyan, the Prosecutor of Kotayk Region, Aharon Sahakyan, Governor of Kotayk Region, Mher Aprikyan, Secretary General of the Prosecutor’s Office, the leaders of the regional structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Security Service, Investigative Committee and Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of the region and others.

Karen Sukiasyan presented the report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of Kotayk region for 2024, focusing, inter alia, on the criminal proceedings submitted to the court with an indictment by the prosecutors. In this context, the Prosecutor of the Region reported that during 2024, Prosecutor's Office of Kotayk Region submitted 4204 criminal proceedings (in 2023 - 4046). Judgments of conviction were delivered in 1190 criminal cases against 1276 persons (in 2023 - 425 criminal cases against 446 persons).

Property damage with the amount of AMD 148 million 361 thousand was caused to the state as a result of crimes during 2024, out of which AMD 119 million 445 thousand (over 300 thousand USD) was recovered. The damage of AMD 3 million 50 thousand caused to the communities was recovered.

Karen Sukiasyan, the Prosecutor of Kotayk Region, addressing the outcomes of the studies conducted in the scope of the competence of protection of state and community interests, informed that 6 claims were submitted to the court by the Prosecutors of the Region, in total, 10 claims are being examined on AMD 104 million 272 thousand and 33 thousand USD.     

Anna Vardapetyan instructed the Prosecutor of Kotayk Region to maintain the positive indicators recorded in 2024 and continue the activities in the sphere of protection of state (community) interests.
