553 examinations have been initiated since the establishment of the Department of Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office (hereinafter referred to as “the Competent Body”) from September 2020 up to date.

The Competent body submitted 201 motions to the court on applying measures for securing a claim against 172 individuals.

The Competent body submitted 116 statements of claim demanding to confiscate in favor of the Republic of Armenia, about 1300 immovable properties, 251 movable properties and shares in 335 legal persons.

The total cost of all submitted statements of claims amounted to AMD 587 billion (shares in the legal persons as well as market prices of several other properties are not included in the total cost of the claim).

The Prosecutor General’s Office concluded 8 settlement agreements in the scope of proceedings on confiscation of illicit property and 7 immovable properties, 1 movable property in the total amount of AMD 4 billion 100 million as well as about AMD 937 million were returned to the Republic of Armenia. 

Pursuant to 4 decisions rendered by the Anti-corruption court during 2024, 5 immovable properties, 2 movable properties, shares in 2 legal persons the total market price whereof amounted to AMD 1 billion 123 million as well as AMD 1 billion 880 million shall be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
