Today Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General received Eric de Muynck, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Armenia.

Anna Vardapetyan thanked the Ambassador for initiating the meeting and attached importance to the support of Belgium, as a founding member of European Union in the ongoing legal reforms in Armenia. 

Eric de Muynck restated the support of Belgium in the process of democratic reforms in Armenia and this context the latter highlighted the importance of the agreement “Оn cooperation between the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) and the competent authorities for judicial cooperation in criminal matters of the Republic of Armenia" signed in the city of Brussels on April 5, 2024. 

During the meeting Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, represented the priorities of the Prosecutor’s Office—fight against corruption, confiscation of property of illicit origin, protection of state and community interests in the scope of corruption cases, prevention of domestic violence, etc.

The Prosecutor General and the Ambassador of Belgium to Armenia discussed the opportunities of expanding the cooperation in the abovementioned directions and referred to several questions of mutual interest.
