The Prosecutors General of Armenia and Russia have discussed issues of mutual interest

On October 04, 2024 the RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan received the delegation headed by Igor Krasnov, the Prosecutor General of Russian Federation.

 

The delegation has arrived to Armenia to take part in the 34th Session of the Coordination Council of the Prosecutors General of the CIS member states which was held in Yerevan.

 

Anna Vardapetyan has greeted Igor Krasnov at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the RA and highly appreciated the high level cooperation between law enforcement bodies of two countries underlying that there is a big potential to develop it.

 

Igor Krasnov thanked Anna Vardapetyan for the high level organization of the 34th Session of the Coordination Council of the Prosecutors General of the CIS and for the hospitality shown to the Russian delegation. According to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, the warm relations between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries contribute to the effective interaction between the two Offices.

 

By signing the new cooperation program for 2025-2026, the Prosecutors Generals of Armenia and Russia agreed to attach more attention to strengthening relations in the scientific and educational sphere.

 

The Prosecutors General of Armenia and Russia discussed issues of mutual interest, in the context of which the Prosecutor General of Armenia emphasized the need for real and tangible cooperation in specific corruption cases, seizure and confiscation of property of illegal origin taken out of the Republic of Armenia and located in the Russian Federation. Anna Vardapetyan noted that the bilateral nature of mutual legal assistance is a necessary condition for continuing effective cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries.
