On March 5, 2024, K.Kh was arrested for offering electoral bribe for the purpose of ensuring more votes for “I Have honor” alliance and recording necessary results during 2021 Parliamentary elections.  

Under the criminal proceedings examined by the Anti-corruption committee it was found out that on June 19, 2021 at about 22:00, K.Kh, resident of one of the communities of Ararat region visited A.V. another resident of the same community and offered AMD 30 thousand as an electoral bribe for each vote for “I Have honor” alliance. The citizen rejected the offer. K.Kh. offered electoral bribe to A.V.’s two daughters as well. One of them accepted the offer and received AMD 30 thousand.

On June 30, 2021 a decision was rendered on involving K.Kh. as a defendant under point 2 of part 4 of article 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003.

As K.Kh’s location was not detected and he was hiding from the examination, search was declared against him on July 1, 2021 and under the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan dated July 2, 2021, detention was chosen as a measure of restraint against him.

A public criminal prosecution was initiated also against the person receiving the bribe under part 1 of article 154.2 of the Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003. On August 10, 2021 the criminal prosecution against the citizen receiving the electoral bribe was terminated on the basis of the remorse.

Under the decision of the Anti-corruption court, dated March 6, 2024, combined alternative measures of restraint were applied against K.KH — house arrest for 2 months, bail in the amount of AMD 1 million and ban on absence.

On March 21, 2024 a new public criminal prosecution was initiated against K.Kh. under part 1 of article 219 of the Criminal Code (3 counts).

On March 25, 2024 the Prosecutor signed the indictment regarding K. KH. and submitted to the Anti-corruption court with the materials of the case.
