The Prosecutor's Office warns that evading a training (military) muster is a crime; it is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 1-3 years

The Government of the Republic of Armenia, by its Decision No. 4-N of January 8, 2026, announced training muster for the officers of reserves of the ranks of privates, non-commissioned officers and officers registered in the first and second ranks of the first group of reservеs during 2026.

 

According to the Law "On Military Service and the Status of a Serviceman", a citizen who is in the Republic of Armenia within the framework of a training muster is obliged to report to his military registration body based on the relevant notification of the military commissariat.

 

The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia warns that failure to appear by a citizen summoned to a training session results in criminal liability.

 

In particular, Article 462, Part 1 of the Criminal Code provides for criminal liability for evading an announced training muster, if, among other things, it was manifested by violating to appear at the military commissariat of the place of his registration. This act is also punishable by imprisonment for a term of 1-3 years.
