The Prosecutor has initiated public criminal prosecution against one of the five masked individuals featured in a video containing a threat of murder: a search warrant will be issued

On May 30, 2026, the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against M.M., one of the five masked individuals featured in a video containing a threat of murder that posed a real danger of being carried out. The charges were brought under points 1 and 8 of part 2 of Article 43-155 of the Criminal Code (preparation for murder committed by a group of persons) and points 2 and 5 of part 2 of Article 211 of the Criminal Code (obstructing election campaigning by threatening violence against a person, committed by a group of persons).

 

It should be recalled that on May 16, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., five masked individuals intercepted a live video feed being transmitted through the website “live.1tv.am,” which was not intended for public access, and disseminated a video containing a threat of murder that posed a real danger of being carried out.

 

On May 17, 2026, criminal proceedings were initiated by the Serious Crimes Investigation Division of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

 

On June 1, 2026, a motion was filed with the court demanding the application of detention as a preventive measure against the accused M.M.

 

Given that M.M. has been absent from the Republic of Armenia since 2024 and, according to preliminary information, is currently in the Russian Federation, the relevant documents have been forwsubmittedarded to the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia for the purpose of declaring him wanted.

 

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
