On February 21, 2026, the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik region for 2025 were summarized under the leadership of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Military Prosecutor Grigor Elizbaryan, the Head of Syunik region Robert Ghukasyan, the Prosecutor of Syunik region Masis Poghosyan, heads of the regional structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service and the Investigative Committee, prosecutors of the regional prosecutor’s office, and others.
While presenting the annual report for 2025, Masis Poghosyan noted that in 2025, 2,363 criminal proceedings were initiated (2,412 in 2024).
During the reporting period, 446 criminal proceedings involving 467 individuals were submitted to court with indictments approved by prosecutors (371 proceedings involving 398 individuals in 2024).
In 2025, courts concluded 405 criminal proceedings involving 421 individuals (362 proceedings involving 379 individuals in 2024).
In 2025, about AMD 101 million of the damage caused to the state in criminal proceedings was recovered.
Referring to work carried out in the field of state (community) interests protection, Masis Poghosyan reported that in 2025, 10 immovable properties with a total area of about 5 ha, as well as AMD 102,665,000, were returned to the Republic of Armenia or to the community.
In particular:
According to Masis Poghosyan, of the 20 claims filed by the Prosecutor’s Office in 2025 in the field of state (community) interests protection, 11 have been granted. The total amount of granted claims is AMD 128,283,000. Proceedings are ongoing in respect of 9 claims, one of which has a claim value of AMD 1,329,807,000.
Anna Vardapetyan issued a number of instructions to the Prosecutor of Syunik region and the prosecutors of the office aimed at intensifying efforts to protect state and community interests and at preventing and detecting crimes.
