As a result of prosecutorial intervention, damage caused to the state in the amount of AMD 150,000,000, equivalent to USD 390,000, has been recovered

The criminal proceedings under the supervision of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Prosecutor General's Office and investigated by the Investigative Committee, revealed that the director of a company engaged in the retail and wholesale trade of metal goods, paints, glass sheets, plumbing and heating equipment, construction materials, violated several provisions of the Tax Code in order to evade paying taxes in a particularly large amount — AMD 500 million 721 thousand, in the course of carrying out entrepreneurial activities.

 

Considering the existence of sufficient facts in the criminal proceedings proving the commission of a crime, on July 22, 2025, the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against the Director of the Company under point 2 of part 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code (evading of paying taxes in particularly large amounts).

 

On August 12, 2025, as a result of the prosecutor's intervention, AMD 150 million, equivalent to USD 390 thousand, was recovered from the damage caused to the state.

 

The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
