On December 5, 2023, it was announced by the Prosecutor General's Office, that the Prosecutor had initiated public criminal prosecution against A.P. for causing severe physical pain and severe mental suffering to his daughter, born in 2014.

Based on the evidence obtained in the course of the preliminary investigation conducted by the Investigative Committee’s Regional Investigative Department of Ararat (Investigative Division of Masis), on November 13, 2024, the Prosecutor initiated another public criminal prosecution against A.P., the mother of the 10-year-old girl in accordance with points 3, 4, 6 and 8 of part 2 of article 196 of the Criminal Code (causing severe physical pain and severe mental suffering with particular cruelty by a close relative against a minor in material or other dependence from the criminal).

On December 12, 2024, the Prosecutor approved the indictment against A.P. and submitted it, along with the case materials, to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for the Ararat and Vayots Dzor Regions.

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
