The prosecutor has sent to court the case on aiding a person, who was a member of the Central Medical Commission under the Ministry of Defense, in attempting to receive a bribe in a particularly large scale

11/12/2024

On December 10, 2024, the prosecutor approved the indictment against S.H., a member of the Central Medical Commission under the Ministry of Defense, and others for aiding in the attempt to receive a bribe in a particularly large scale, and submitted it to the Anti-Corruption Court along with the case materials.

It should be reminded that the operational-investigative measures taken revealed that S.H., along with other officials, demanded a bribe of AMD 6,948,000, equivalent to USD 18,000, from the father of a person subject to compulsory military service in order to facilitate the exemption process by preparing false illness-related documents.

S.H. and the citizen who was giving the bribe were apprehended by officers of the Anti-Corruption Committee on July 26, 2024, while receiving part of the bribe, amounting to 10,000 US dollars.

On July 27, 2024, criminal proceedings were initiated. During the pre-trial investigation of the proceedings conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee, evidence related to other alleged crimes was discovered (the attempt to aid in receiving a particularly large bribe, the receipt of a large bribe, the giving of a bribe, aiding in avoiding compulsory military service through the simulation of illness, and the preparation and provision of false documents by officials). Based on the obtained evidence, additional criminal proceedings were initiated and merged with the one dated July 27, 2024.

On December 2, 2024, the prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against S.H. under point 3 of part 3 of Article 44-46-435 of the Criminal Code (receiving a particularly large bribe, attempting to aid in receiving a bribe, and aiding).

On December 10, 2024, the indictment against S.H. and others was confirmed, and submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court along with the case materials.
