On September 18-20, Deputy Prosecutor General Srbuhi Galyan, who coordinates the sphere aimed at confiscation of property of illegal origin, is participating in the conference under the Council of Europe on "Introduction of additional tools for criminal confiscation" in the Republic of Serbia.
During the speech, the Deputy Prosecutor General welcomed the participants of the event, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the states in the above-mentioned field and presented the legislative regulations, practice and Armenian experience in the field of civil confiscation of property of illegal origin.
Srbuhi Galyan also spoke about 537 investigations initiated since the establishment of the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the General Prosecutor's Office and noted that 192 motions to enforce claims against 163 persons were submitted to the court. "We submitted 110 lawsuits to the court, with which we demand confiscation of about 1205 immovable and 230 movable properties of illegal origin in favor of the Republic of Armenia, as well as participation in about 320 legal entities, the total value of which is about AMD 566 billion," said the Deputy Prosecutor General of Armenia and added that within the framework of the confiscation of property of illegal origin, the Prosecutor General’s Office concluded 8 reconciliation agreements, by which 7 immovable and 1 movable property were transferred to the Republic of Armenia, with a total value of around 4 billion 100 million AMD as well as around 937 million AMD.
Srbuhi Galyan added that according to 3 judgments made by the Anti-Corruption Court in 2024, 5 immovable and 2 movable properties, participation in 2 legal entities with a total market value of around 1 billion 123 million AMD, as well as around 1 billion 800 million AMD will be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
