The Prosecutor General’s Office required to confiscate 46 immovable properties and about AMD 350 million from the former Governor of Ararat region

On May 16, 2024 the Anti-corruption court accepted into proceedings another statement of claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the confiscation of illicit property.

 

The Department of Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office submitted a claim to the court with the requirement to confiscate from Aramayis Grigoryan, former Governor of Ararat region and related persons:

  • 46 immovable properties;
  • 2 movable properties;
  • 3 shares in legal persons;                                                                                                                                                              
  • AMD 213 million 870 thousand, which was not substantiated by the lawful income of Aramayis Grigoryan, had an illicit origin and during 2004-2023 was transferred to the bona fide purchaser or could not be identified and confiscated;
  • AMD 97 million 143 thousand as a remainder of illicit income, constituting an amount received from the conversion or use of the property of illicit origin;
  • Bonds received from banks with the total value of about AMD 62 million;
  • The lease payments received from the lease of several properties of illicit origin.
