Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia met the delegation led by Maxime Longangue, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan.

Anna Vardapetyan congratulated Maxime Longangue on the new position of the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Armenia and mentioned, that the meeting is an opportunity to highlight the efficiency of cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia and the Council of Europe Office in Armenia as well as to discuss the further directions of development of the cooperation.

The Prosecutor General referred to the high-level conference “Strengthening the effectiveness of international cooperation in fighting transnational organized crime”, which took place in Yerevan on April 26-27, 2024 and thanked the partners for the organization of the Conference.   

According to the assessment of Maxime Longangue, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Armenia, the success of the Conference and the expanded geography of the participants were the result of the strengthened cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office and discussed the opportunities of supporting the professional capacity building of prosecutors through ongoing trainings related to the confiscation of illicit property and fight against corruption in the scope of the cooperation with the Prosecutor General of the Republic. Other directions of cooperation were also considered.
