On January 29, 2024 the Prosecutor signed the indictment on the case of M.G., private, compulsory military serviceman, who was killed in the combat post of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and submitted to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor marzes with the materials of the proceedings.

Let us remind that on July 26, 2023 an official news was published in the mass media, that on July 26, 2023 at about 16:46 the corpse of M.G. private, compulsory military serviceman was found in the combat position of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia with the fatal gunshot wound on the head.

By the evidence obtained under the criminal proceedings initiated in the Investigative Committee it was substantiated that A. H. compulsory military serviceman, who was serving with M.G.  inflicted a fatal gunshot wound to M.G. because of insulting words uttered during the conversation regarding a personal matter.

On July 28, 2023 the Prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against A.H. under part 1 of article 155 of the Criminal Code and on July 29, 2023 the latter initiated a public criminal prosecution against T.S. serviceman, head of the post for assisting the person who had committed a murder and for hiding the murder. Under the decision of the court, detention was chosen as a measure of restraint against A.H. and, signature not to leave was chosen as a measure of restraint against T.S.

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
