On September 20, 2023 the Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan rendered a judgment as a result of remote trial, pursuant whereof A.A. was found guilty for illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Armenia (82 counts).

A penalty was imposed on A.A. for each count in the amount of two hundred fold of the minimum salary (AMD 200 thousand). A penalty in the amount of AMD 2 million 630 thousand was imposed as a final punishment against A.A.

Let us remind that during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings examined in the Main Directorate of Investigation of the National Security Service, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.A. for illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Armenia  (82 counts).

On September 13, 2022 the investigator conducting the proceedings decided to apply a remote trial against A.A. 

On February 8, 2023 the prosecutor signed the indictment regarding A.A. and submitted it to the Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan with the materials of the case. At the same time, the prosecutor submitted a motion to the court on conducting a remote trial against A.A., which was awarded by the decision of the court dated March 2, 2023.

Thus, the first judgment rendered as a result of remote trial was not appealed and entered into legal force.
