The Prosecutor General’s Office concluded a settlement agreement: 1 immovable property, 1 movable property and about AMD 29 million were returned to the Republic of Armenia

On October 9, 2020, the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin started an examination of property belonging to Armen Harutyunyan, the former Head of Erebuni administrative district.

 

The examination was based on the criminal proceedings initiated against Armen Harutyunyan under part 2 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003.

 

As a result of examination carried out in the Prosecutor General’s Office a statement of claim with the requirement to confiscate property of illicit origin was submitted to the Anti-corruption court on March 14, 2023.

 

 On October 13, 2023 the Prosecutor General’s Office received an application of Armen Harutyunyan and his affiliated persons on accepting the claim and concluding a settlement agreement. Armen Harutyunyan and his affiliated persons were obliged to transfer to the Republic of Armenia under the ownership right 1 immovable property, 1 movable property with the market value of AMD 16 million 400 thousand as well as AMD 28 million 700 thousand.

 

On October 13, 2023 a settlement agreement was concluded between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the person submitting an application (based on the application), which was submitted to the Anti-corruption court on October 16, to approve the agreement in the order provided for by the Law.  

 

On October 18, 2023 the Anti-corruption court approved the settlement agreement.
