Citizens of Iran and a citizen of the Russian Federation illegally obtained and realized drugs in extremely large quantities: the prosecutor submitted the case to the court

A.Lu., S.M., citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and M. Sh., citizen of the Russian Federation illegally obtained and transported drugs in extremely large quantities (for storage and realization purposes) with the assistance of A.L., another citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

During the preliminary examination it was found out that for the purpose of realization of drugs S.M., A.Lu., and M.SH created and managed a marketplace in the Telegram application.

 

S.M. and A.Lu illegally obtained 228,1725 g  hashish, 46,9189 g methamphetamine, 5,8299 g psilocybin and 0,001481 g lysergide (LSD) from H. GH., and Sa., H., (two citizens of Iran) who arrived in Armenia on July 4, 2022.

 

The obtained drugs were illegally kept in their actual place of residence —in the house located at Dzorakap settlement, Ani community, Shirak region. 

 

On July 29, 2022, the members of the group transported the drugs packed in 19 packages to Gyumri. M.Sh., with the assistance of A.L. taped the package with hashish to the wall of the building located at 8 Lalayan Str., city of Gyumri and took the photo of the location, to further provide information on the location to the person obtaining the drug.

 

M.Sh., and A.L. were arrested by the Police officers. The rest of the drugs illegally kept in the house located at Dzorakap settlement, Ani community, Shirak region was also found. A. Lu., S.M. were also arrested by the policemen on the same day.

 

A public criminal prosecution was initiated against S.M., A. Lu., M.SH., A.L. on July 7, 2023 under point 2 of part 3 of article 393 of the Criminal Code. Detention was applied as a measure of restraint against the latter. 

 

On July 14, 2023 the supervising prosecutor signed the indictment and submitted it to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak region with the materials of the criminal proceedings.

 

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
