On May 20, 2026, the Prosecutor General's Office reported on a number of violations found in the privatization process of Araratcement.
Within the framework of the investigation carried out in the scope of the protection of state (community) interests, in addition to the previously mentioned violations, it was also revealed that the former Head of Ararat community A.B., with the assistance of an employee of Araratcement CJSC, used his official position against the interests of the service, violating a number of legislative requirements. In particular, on September 22, 2009, through a formal auction, he alienated the 74.1 ha of land plot transferred to the community as pasture to Araratcement CJSC.
The Prosecutor, having found the elements of crime within the framework of exercising his powers to protect state interests, submitted a proper report on the crime on May 27, 2026, which was addressed to the Anti-Corruption Committee to resolve the issue of initiating proceedings.
On the same day, the Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court against the Ararat community, "Araratcement" CJSC and the company's employee A.A., demanding that the auctions of 74.1 hectares of land held on September 22, 2009 be declared invalid and the consequences of invalidity be applied.
The studies of the Prosecutor's Office are pending to clarify the legality of the acquisition of other properties owned by "Araratcement" CJSC.
It is worthmentioning that on May 5, 2026, the Prosecutor General's Office addressed a letter to the Government of the Republic of Armenia, proposing to discuss the violations in the company and the appropriateness of implementing proper administration in order to eliminate their consequences, including, for example, the appointment of a temporary administrator in the company.
