Today, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami.
Anna Vardapetyan congratulated the Ambassador on assuming his diplomatic mission and wished him productive work for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
Before addressing the agenda items, the Prosecutor General of Armenia expressed condolences over the deaths of numerous citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a result of military actions, especially in connection with the tragedy involving students of the Minab school.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Anna Vardapetyan for responding to the initiative for the meeting, emphasized the centuries-old close ties between the two friendly nations based on mutual trust and highly appreciated the current level of cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices of the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, mainly related to the extradition of wanted persons, the provision of legal assistance and other matters.
