On May 6, 2026, Deputy Prosecutor General Yeghiazar Avagyan took part in a panel discussion titled “European Integration of the Prosecutor’s Office System: Opportunities and Challenges,” held within the framework of the “Yerevan Dialogue” international conference.
The panel also included Armenia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, Chair of the Board on Relations with Eurojust partners Boštjan Škrlec and Senior Prosecutor João Conde CORREIA, who is also a representative of the CARIN network (Camden Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network) in Portugal. The discussion was moderated by advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia Narine Gasparyan.
The discussion focused on the importance of legal cooperation in the process of European integration, as well as the need to introduce practical mechanisms aimed at strengthening international partnerships in the field of criminal justice.
In his speech, Deputy Prosecutor General Yeghiazar Avagyan emphasized the importance of international legal cooperation in combating transnational crime. He highly valued Armenia’s cooperation with Eurojust and highlighted the necessity of international collaboration in the field of identifying and confiscating assets of illegal origin through the CARIN network.
Avagyan expressed confidence that access to the full range of Eurojust’s tools and resources would elevate cooperation in criminal cases to a new level and significantly contribute to the effective investigation and prosecution of transnational crimes.
