On February 24, 2026, under the leadership of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Avan and Nor Nork Administrative Districts for 2025 have been summarized.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prosecutor General Yeghiazar Avagyan, Prosecutor of the Yerevan City Rafael Manukyan, Prosecutor of the Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts Davit Aghajanyan, heads of territorial subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service and the Investigative Committee, prosecutors of the administrative districts, and others.
While presenting the annual report for 2025, Davit Aghajanyan stated that in 2025, 2,460 criminal proceedings were initiated (2,321 in 2024).
During the reporting period, 603 criminal cases involving 645 individuals were submitted to court with indictments approved by prosecutors (404 cases involving 438 individuals in 2024), whereof 59 cases involving 74 individuals concerned grave and particularly grave crimes.
In courts, 370 criminal cases involving 381 individuals were completed (204 cases involving 217 individuals in 2024), whereof verdicts entered into force were issued under 30 cases involving 32 individuals for grave crimes and under 2 cases involving 2 individuals for particularly grave crimes.
During the reporting period, AMD 56,467,000 of damage caused to the state were recovered.
Referring to the works carried out in the field of state (community) interests protection, Davit Aghajanyan informed that, among other matters, the legality of the registration of ownership rights to two land plots at 12/10 and 12/1 Nver Safaryan Street, Yerevan and the properties located thereon was examined.
Based on the results of the examination, on October 3, 2025, a crime report was submitted by a prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of the administrative districts and criminal proceedings were initiated. In addition, on October 16 and October 21, 2025, two claims were filed with the Anti-Corruption Court demasnding to declare invalid the auction and apply the consequences of invalidity. The claims have been accepted for proceedings.
Anna Vardapetyan issued a number of instructions to the Prosecutor of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts and prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office aimed at intensifying efforts in state and community interests protection, as well as preventing and detecting crimes.
