On February 20, 2026, the 2025 activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Vayots Dzor Region were summarized under the leadership of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Military Prosecutor Grigor Elizbaryan, the Head of Vayots Dzor region Vahagn Arsenyan, the Prosecutor of Vayots Dzor region Aspurak Avetisyan, heads of the regional structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service and the Investigative Committee, prosecutors of the regional prosecutor’s office and others.
While presenting the annual report of the Prosecutor’s Office of Vayots Dzor region for 2025, Aspurak Avetisyan noted that in 2025, 845 criminal proceedings were initiated in the region (865 criminal proceedings in 2024).
During the reporting period, 193 criminal proceedings involving 194 individuals were submitted to court with indictments approved by prosecutors (179 criminal proceedings involving 191 individuals in 2024).
In 2025, courts concluded 185 criminal cases involving 190 individuals (135 criminal cases involving 138 individuals in 2024).
In 2025, AMD 126,585,000 of the damage caused to the state under criminal proceedings was recovered.
Referring to work carried out in the field of state (community) interests protection, the Prosecutor of Vayots Dzor region informed that in 2025, a 1.0172 ha agricultural land plot was returned to the Vayk community.
The Prosecutor General issued a number of instructions to the Prosecutor of Vayots Dzor region and the prosecutors of the office aimed at intensifying efforts in protecting state and community interests, as well as preventing and detecting crimes in the region.
