The Prosecutor General assigned to strengthen criminal policy: the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Armavir region for 2025 summarized

Under the leadership of Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of Armavir region for 2025 were summarized on February 11, 2026.

 

The event was attended by Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Yeghiazar Avagyan, Prosecutor of Armavir region Sevak Poghosyan, Head of the Armavir region Vahram Khachatryan, Secretary General of the Prosecutor’s Office Mher Aprikyan, the heads of regional divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service and the Investigative Committee, the prosecutors of the regional prosecutor’s office and others.

 

Sevak Poghosyan, while presenting the activity report of the Prosecutor’s Office of Armavir region for 2025, noted that in 2025, 3,669 criminal proceedings were initiated in the Armavir region (compared to 3,671 criminal proceedings in 2024).  

 

During the reporting period, prosecutors submitted 1,310 criminal proceedings to the court with approved indictments against 1,345 individuals (in 2024, 1,307 proceedings against 1,374 individuals were submitted) whereof 92 cases involved grave and particularly grave crimes.

 

In this context, the Prosecutor of Armavir Region emphasized that all seven cases of murders registered in 2025 were discovered, five whereof sent to court.

 

In 2025, 1,050 criminal cases concerning 1,085 individuals were concluded in courts (in 2024, 986 criminal cases concerning 1,050 individuals were concluded).

 

According to the Prosecutor of the region, approximately AMD 171 million 293 thousand of damage caused to the state was recovered under criminal proceedings in 2025.

 

As a result of work to protect state and community interests, AMD 6 million 750 thousand was returned in 2025, and eight civil claims were submitted to court—all of which are currently under judicial consideration. In addition to claims, the prosecutor’s office of the region is conducting 12 investigations in the field of state and community interest protection.

 

Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan also gave a number of instructions to the Prosecutor of Armavir region and the regional prosecutors aimed at strengthening criminal policy in the region, preventing and investigating crimes and intensifying work to protect state and community interests.
