Land plots, kindergarten buildings, parks and a cultural center worth AMD 60 billion 867 million returned to the state and communities: the 2025 activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ararat region have been summarized

On February 10, 2026, the 2025 activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ararat region were summarized under the leadership of Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.

 

The event was attended by Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Yeghiazar Avagyan, Prosecutor of the Ararat region Vardan Poghosyan, Head of the Ararat Region Sedrak Tevonyan, Secretary General of the Prosecutor’s Office Mher Aprikyan, the heads of the regional divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service and the Investigative Committee, the prosecutors of the regional prosecutor’s office and others.

 

Presenting the 2025 activity report of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ararat region, Prosecutor of the Ararat Region Vardan Poghosyan noted that in 2025, 4,574 criminal proceedings were initiated in the Ararat region (compared to 4,375 criminal proceedings in 2024).

 

During 2025, prosecutors of the regional prosecutor’s office referred 1,318 criminal proceedings to court with approved indictments against 1,378 individuals (compared to 1,031 proceedings against 1,068 individuals in 2024).

 

In 2025, 1,083 criminal cases concerning 1,103 individuals were concluded in court (in 2024, 559 criminal cases concerning 608 individuals were concluded).

 

In 2025, 56 decisions of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of the Ararat region were overturned (in 2024, 35).

 

According to the Prosecutor of the region, in 2025, approximately AMD 260 million of the damage caused to the state or the community in criminal cases was recovered (in 2024, AMD 346 million 616 thousand).

 

Presenting the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ararat region in protecting state and community interests, Vardan Poghosyan noted that in 2025, 65 land plots and 5 other immovable properties with a total area of 5,330 hectares, worth approximately AMD 60 billion 553 million, were returned to the Republic of Armenia (in 2024, 3 immovable properties worth AMD 78 million 259 thousand were returned to the community).

 

The 65 land plots are environmentally designated state-owned lands located outside the administrative boundaries of the communities in the Ararat Region. The 5 other immovable properties are:

 

  • Kindergarten building and land in Surenavan: A 625.33 sq.m. section of the community kindergarten building at 23/3 Barekamutyun Street, along with 0.15878 ha of land encumbered by it. The cadastral value approximating market value is AMD 22.5 million.
  • Kindergarten in Jrashen community: A kindergarten building at 14 Baghramyan Street with 0.26466 ha of land. The cadastral value approximating market value is AMD 17.865 million.
  • Cultural center in Narek: A cultural house of about 257 sq.m. at 2/1 David Bek Street, with 900 sq.m. of land encumbered by it. The cadastral value approximating market value is AMD 13.411 million.
  • Park in Kaghzrashen (Shahumyan St. 1/1): Land area of 0.01 ha. The cadastral value approximating market value is AMD 122 thousand.
  • Park in Kaghzrashen (Shahumyan St. 2/1): Land area of 0.015 ha. The cadastral value approximating market value is AMD 183 thousand.

 

Referring to the civil claims submitted to the court by prosecutors, the Prosecutor of the Ararat region reported that 2 claims were granted. Once the court secisions enter into legal force, a total of AMD 25 million 315 thousand will be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia.

 

Anna Vardapetyan gave a number of instructions to the Prosecutor of the Ararat region and the regional prosecutors aimed at protecting state and community interests, as well as preventing and investigating crimes in the region.
