On December 30, 2025, the Prosecutor General's Office announced that work had begun on dismantling illegally constructed buildings and structures in areas below the absolute mark on the coastal territories of Lake Sevan. At the same time, the Prosecutor's Office announced that work on the demolition of illegal buildings will continue in 2026.
On February 2, 2026, the fence, concrete retaining walls, ramp and other structures of the private house on Sevan, illegally built by Vladimir Gasparyan, the former Chief of the RA Police, were dismantled (Prosecutor's Office, in particular, demands Vladimir Gasparyan and affiliated persons to confiscate this private house as part of a claim for confiscation of property of illegal origin), located below the absolute limit, concrete retaining walls, ramp and other structures.
From December 2025 to the present day, as a result of the fulfillment of the petitions of the Prosecutor's Office's, about 40 buildings and structures illegally built by various persons, major and secondary, were dismantled (demolished) on 14 land plots of the Lake Sevan coast below the absolute mark, 2 contracts were terminated by the National Park of Sevan.
It should be recalled that in addition to the above-mentioned petitions, during 2025, the Prosecutor's Office of Gegharkunik Region sent 8 more petitions to the Ministry of the Environment and the Sevan National Park.

As a result of investigations conducted by the Department of State Interests Protection of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Prosecutor's Office of Gegharkunik Region within the framework of their powers to file a lawsuit for the state interests protection, allegations of the crime were sent to the preliminary investigation authorities, and criminal proceedings were initiated.
