The Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor General’s Office (hereinafter, “the Department”) initiated 157 examinations in 2025.

During 2025, the Department submitted 42 claims to the courts, whereof 38 are currently under review — confiscation of 230 immovable properties, 68 movable properties, 76 participations in legal entities are demanded in favor of the Republic of Armenia. The monetary claim under these claims amounts to AMD 31,540,000,000, in total — AMD 35,993,000,000.

In 2025, one settlement agreement was concluded, as a result of which, AMD 87,622,000 is subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia as property of illicit origin. AMD 65,675,000 has already been confiscated.

In 2025, the first judgment in a case of confiscation of property of illicit origin entered into legal force. Based on the judgment, ownership rights of the Republic of Armenia were registered over one apartment located on Vardanants Street in Yerevan and one residential house in Arinj community, Kotayk region, with a total average market value of AMD 300,650,000 (around USD 750,000). In addition, AMD 20,634,000 (equivalent to EUR 50,000) and AMD 878,000 were transferred to the Unified Account of Recovered Funds.

As of December 31, 2025, for the period from September 2020 to December 31, 2025, the number of claims pending in courts is 155, with a total claim value of AMD 595,817,000,000. By these claims, the Prosecutor’s Office demands to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia 324 movable properties, 1,463 immovable properties, 440 participations in legal entities, with a monetary claim of AMD 518,428,000,000 (this amount shows a growing trend, since not all property market values and the values of participations in legal entities have been determined).

Since its formation, the Department has concluded 9 settlement agreements. Based on the settlement agreements, 7 immovable properties, 2 movable properties, and monetary funds have been confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia, totaling AMD 5,126,000,000.
