““This is what I’ve learned from the “Tshakhruks”: if you’ve promised to come, then you must come — even if there are various obstacles.” On September 26, 2025, Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, participated in a conference organized by the “Tshakhruk” NGO at the Specialized Children’s Home of Kharberd, where she spoke about inclusivity, the friendship established with the “Tshakhruks” years ago and the importance of keeping promises.

“Today, I am sitting here as someone who, years ago, had the joyful opportunity to visit the Specialized Children’s Home of Kharberd and get to know the students who now amaze us with their art, as well as their teachers. There is one important lesson and experience I carry with me—something the “Tshakhruks” taught me back in 2019. Sofia, who performed today, once asked me a simple question: “When are you going to come back?” Adults used to carelessly say “tomorrow” to children and then never come. But if you’ve said you’ll come, then you must come—even if there are obstacles, you must come, because they are waiting for you. That’s exactly why I’m here today, despite the many professional challenges I face—I’m here, participating in this conference”, concluded Anna Vardapetyan.

It should be recalled that the “Tshakhruk” cultural center operating at Specialized Children’s Home of Kharberd was founded by volunteers Anna and Anahit Mkhitaryans, who also established the “Tshakhruk” Ethno Band, where special needs children sing and play instruments.
